Rehabilitation of Square Barye

Square Barye of the Ile Saint Louis -not far from the great Garden plants where Antoine-Louis Barye (1796/1875) loved watching the animals before modeling them- high monument, built by a US warrant in 1892, celebrating the talent of the famous animal sculptor.

Since the Vichy government had melted bronzes in 1942, he remained only sadly insignificant pedestal with two empty slots.

In 2014 ended the reconstruction of the monument initiated by Gilles Perrault, passionate and ardent supporter of the sculpture, the refund took 15 years and was fully funded by the Chi Mei Museum Foundation, philanthropist, patron of Taiwan.
