Fluorescent UV Light

Principle:

A luminous, mercury vapour, source, which emits UV radiation provoking fluorescence phenomena in visible opacity (wood lamp).

Applications:

The UV radiation enables discovery of the heterogeneousness of the lighted surface and reveals the different recent work on the surface of a painting.

UV fluorescence is commonly used in the analysis of paintings and also for cabinet-making varnishes and the restoration of surfaces.
